Write for us
We welcome thoughtful pitches about comedy writing, performance, characters, visual humour and the history of comic forms. A strong proposal begins with a specific question or detail and explains why it is worth a reader’s attention.
What to pitch
We are interested in original, focused ideas: a close reading of a comic device, a comparison between distinct performance choices, an explanation of a form, or a grounded account of how a particular comic convention works. We favour evergreen subjects that can be explored without unsupported claims or a news hook.
Make the proposal clear
Tell us the proposed subject, the central idea, the kind of examples you would use and what your piece would help readers notice. Explain why the angle is distinct from familiar takes. Please also mention any relevant experience or connection to the subject and disclose interests that could affect the piece.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is not a commission, and we may not be able to reply to every submission. Please do not send a complete article unless it has been requested.
