Editorial policy

Our editorial work starts with close attention to the material and clear writing about what we can support. We separate description from interpretation and make room for uncertainty where a reading is open to debate.

Accuracy and corrections

We check names, titles, dates and other factual details against reliable available material before publication. Interpretations of a joke, character or performance are presented as readings, not settled facts. If a reader spots a material error, they can contact us with the relevant article and detail. We review correction requests and, when an error is confirmed, amend the article and make the change clear where appropriate.

Editorial independence

Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject, not in exchange for payment or a promised outcome. We aim to represent comedy forms and audiences with care, and to avoid presenting one taste or response as the only reasonable one.

Partners and paid material

Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly identified as such and kept distinct from editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage, and editorial conclusions are not sold.

Images and illustrations

Images are selected to support the subject and are not used to imply an event or detail that did not occur. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified so readers can distinguish illustration from documentary imagery.
